My Big Fat Dream #smed12

My big fat dream is to travel……

I would like to travel. The first stop would have to be Europe, my favourite cities are Italy, Germany, Switzerland and Greece. Then touring in the United States of America and shopping in New York, and Miami. Touring in India, Thailand, China having a ball in Mauritius, Zanzibar and the Seychelles. I have to stop in Hawaii and Phuket for a tropical island experience. I love swimming…

This would be an awesome experience and adventure. Being able to learn more about other countries their people, languages, food and cultures. Taking pictures of the historical sites.

The best part of traveling is meeting new people the sight seeing and gaining knowledge of other countries traditions and cultures.  I’ll collect items in each country to remember my trip and all the memorable moments.

To dream the impossible dream….travel, travel and travel!

Conventional is a good fallback position isn’t it? #smed12

Most of us have a conventional lifestyle. We plan our lives, follow instructions and abide by the rules. Yes, it’s funny when I hear the saying “rules are meant to be broken” Conventional to me is when you live on the safe side of life.  Like they say rather safe than sorry.

I behave in a specific way, and even if I don’t want to acknowledge it but I am conforming to society’s norms all the time. I have been in situations where I wanted to do my own thing, but I get so caught up being conventional.

Conventionalism gives you peace of mind mostly because it has been tried and trusted. And we like conforming to things the way we know it. With all that said it’s very difficult to let an opportunity just pass you by to do things differently. Yes, It’s scary and very unpredictable, no comfort.

So, yes i agree conventional is a good fallback position.:)

You cannot chase two rabbits at the same time #smed12

I think the above statement means that you should focus on one thing at a time. Try and achieve one goal at a time, then you are more focused on achieving results. We tend to do a better job while focusing on one thing. This allows you to achieve results. That is the best platform to follow your plans, to believe in yourself, work hard  and then to celebrate your success.

It’s inappropriate to chase two rabbits. It’s almost like chasing the impossible. But at the same time we are living in such a fast paced world. We sometimes find our self chasing two rabbits at the same time, by force of survival and not by choice.

You want to work on your career and still maintain your role as wife and mother. Women have to prove themselves in the corporate world. But at least the platform is there for us to achieve and be successful at work and at home. So in this instance I would say it is possible to chase two rabbits at the same time.

I’m working and studying part-time that is also considered as chasing two rabbits at the same time. So the impossible is possible. It's not easy but it's worth it.

“Nothing is more dangerous than an idea, when you only have one idea” (Alain) #smed12

It is very risky if you only have one idea. You need to be able to think out of the box. Look at things from  different angles and think your ideas through. There might be several other opportunities available but if you only have one idea it could be very dangerous.

It’s as dangerous as only having one goal in life. If that goal is not reached and if it does not turn into reality you have nothing to fall back on. Therefore you should always create a mind map this encourages ideas and creativity.

Write down your vision, ideas and your goals. Ideas are what will set you apart from the rest of the world. A brilliant example is Steve Jobs. His marvelous ideas have set him apart from the rest of the world. He made a  marvelous contribution in the IT world and leaving behind a legacy.

Good things come from good ideas. But having only one idea is dangerous and could be seen as putting all your eggs in one basket.

So I agree with the above statement. "Nothing is more dangerous than an idea, when you only have one idea"

Have you figured out the second head fake? #smed12

It’s about the way you live your life. It’s about making the right choices and not giving up on your dreams. . Many of us don’t dare to dream. We are too scared to have vision and ambition. We live our life hoping that our dreams will come true.

If you make the right choices by living and leading your life the right way then your dreams will come to you.

We live our life complaining about our situations and circumstances but we fail to work harder. Do we seek for opportunities or are patiently waiting for luck?

It’s time to be creative and innovative, change your game play when needed. Don’t get trapped in your circumstances. You need to rise and make a difference. You only live once. All honour and glory too God.

We don’t always get what we want but it’s about making the most of what you have.

I am #smed12

I am a Christian and truly blessed. I like the outdoors hiking, swimming and dancing. I love meeting new people and making friends wherever I go.

I believe in working hard to attain my goals and I am very ambitious. I am proud to be a South African citizen living in the best province and loving Cape Town and its people and culture. I try to learn something new each day, life long learning is the way to empower yourself.

I’ve learned to respect others cultures and religions and not to judge but rather to learn more about them and to have understanding.

As the eldest daughter I have worked hard to achieve and to lead by example. I can now share my experience and lessons in life with my sibling and relatives.

I am thankful for all my blessings. I try to live life by making a difference and by reaching out to others.
"This little light of mine, i am going to let it shine" :)
